David Belka

Art Faculty Member

David Belka was raised in Riverton, Utah. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Utah and a Master's degree in Art Education from Brigham Young University.

Brother Belka was an art teacher for the Granite School District in Salt Lake City before coming to BYU-Idaho in 2002 to serve as the director of the Art Education Program.

Brother Belka served in the Chile Viña del Mar Mission.  He is currently a high councilor in his stake.  He has also enjoyed serving in the young men organization at the ward and stake level, as a Sunday School and primary teacher, as an executive secretary, and in an Elders Quorum presidency.

Brother Belka met his wife, Christy, while studying at the University of Utah. They are the parents of two children. Their daughter, Sarah, will begin studying at BYU-Idaho this fall and their son, Spencer, will be in 8th Grade.
