Fernando Castro

Dean of Foundations

Fernando Castro is the Dean of Foundations and a faculty member in the Religious Education Department. He has worked in various CES teaching and administrative responsibilities for nearly 30 years and has been at BYU-Idaho since 2007. 

Brother Castro received a bachelor’s degree in English from Private Technical University of Loja, a master’s degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University, and a doctorate degree in international educational development at Columbia University in New York City. 

Brother Castro served in the Ecuador Quito Mission, as bishop, and president of the California Ventura Mission. He is currently in the Rexburg Idaho YSA 2nd Stake Presidency. 

Brother Castro and his wife, Nora, were married in the Lima Peru Temple. They have four children and four grandchildren and will be celebrating 32 years of marriage next week.
