Sister Couliard grew up in Rennes, France. She was baptized into the church at age sixteen along with her older sister, two years after her mother was converted to the restored Gospel. After finishing college, she went to work and saved up her money to resume her studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Sister Couliard holds degrees in consumer science with an emphasis in social work, psychology and marriage and family therapy. She graduated with her PhD in marriage and family therapy from BYU in 1990.  She has devoted her professional life primarily to university students through her counseling center career at Utah State University in Logan, Utah and at BYU-Idaho since 2005.

She currently serves as the Young Women president in the Rexburg 8th ward. During her years of service in the Church she has been a primary teacher, a Relief Society president, counselor, teacher, and a gospel doctrine instructor. She served a full-time mission in the Washington Seattle mission from 1984 to 1985.

Sister Couliard enjoys traveling abroad. Last August, she worked as a volunteer in orphanages in Cuenca, Ecuador.  She also finds fulfillment in being a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend.

Her dream is to one day live in a warm climate with lots of sunshine all year long!
