James Gordon and his wife, Virginia, celebrated their 20th anniversary last Wednesday, October 16. They are the parents of three children.

James was born in Salt Lake City and grew up in Rexburg. He earned a bachelor’s degree in human development from BYU and a master’s degree in management and human resources from Utah State University. Prior to coming in 2004 to work in what was then BYU-Idaho’s Career Placement Office, he worked at Utah Valley University in career services.

James served in the Germany Leipzig mission in the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany). He has taught gospel doctrine, been a bishop’s counselor and high councilor, and currently serves as the bishop of his home ward.
